Established in 2012, the Fair Rubber Association‘s main objective is to contribute to an improvement of the working and living conditions of the primary producers of natural latex (rubber). The member companies (rubber buyers to manufacture the fair rubber for consumer products) are obliged to pay fair trade premium (0.50 €) to supplier (producer) partners for each kilogram of rubber. In turn, the companies are allowed to use Fair Rubber logo on their products to allow consumers to distinguish them from others.
The producer group must also comply with the Association criteria, these includes the sustainable farming of rubber and the use of fair trade premium for the improvement of the living and working conditions of the primary producers of natural rubber.
Green Net was approved and became the Association supplier partners since October 2016.
