Private-Public partner to promote PGS
[19 Apr 18, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative] Thai Organic PGS Federation (TOPF) signed a memorendum of undestanding with the Minister to promote the adoption of PGS for organic agriculture in the country. The signing was witnessed by the Vice Ministry and the General Secretary of the National Farmer Council.
The MoU is an innovative approach to foster closer private-public collaboration, where the private sector is to be in charge of the development and the public sector is to play a supportive and facilitating role. The MoU specify the target of 5 million rai (800,000 ha) organic and sustainable farming by 2021.
