Organic farming: started in 1996 by local NGOs and started working with the Earth Net Foundation in 1999
The Bak Rua Farmer Organization (BRFO) is situated in Ban Don Phueng village (Moo 4) of Tambol Bak Rua, Mahachanachai District, Yasothorn province. It is located 10 km from Mahachanachai district and 35 Km from Yasothorn and around 530 kilometres from Bangkok. BRFO has members spreading in 45 villages of 25 tambol (all in Yasothorn province).
BRFO started to engage in promoting pesticide-free rice farming since 1996 with support from local NGOs. In 1999, it started organic rice farming in collaboration with Green Net. In 2002, BRFO started a grower group with internal control system (ICS) with technical supports from Earth Net Foundation.
